Holiday in Australia 2020

In 2019 and 2020, Australia experienced a horrific bush fire season. Thousands of people’s livelihoods were struck down by the devastating bush fires which captured the world’s attention in December 2019. People from all over the world watched on helplessly as lives were lost, houses were destroyed, and communities were threatened. These were heartbreaking times for people around the world.

Following the disastrous event, there was a big push across the country to holiday in Australia in 2020.

How can we support the fire affected areas in Australia?

The most obvious ways to support Australia’s bush fire affected areas, is to visit, with an empty esky and spend money! The most significantly impacted States during this time were Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

For many people across the world, this is not possible; never fear, however, there is another option It’s My Shout!

It’s My Shout! What is it and how does it work?

Established during the Australian 2019/2020 bush fire season, It’s My Shout, was a not for profit organisation formed to bring some relief to people in the fire effected areas and to bring communities together.

It’s My Shout was established as a way that people could help from wherever they were in the world. An opportunity for individuals to help business owners in a practical way. People can ‘pay it forward’ directly to those businesses in need; whether they book a virtual hotel room, buy a virtual coffee, or make a virtual purchase from a local shop.

It’s My Shout is run solely by volunteers and offers support to communities across fire affected areas in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

Please pay it forward and support a registered business through It’s My Shout!
